3 Days To Go

3 More Days to Go!!!

Well, it seems to be short but look damn long to me. How should I spend my 3 days to make it shorter??? Argghh..I have been thinking of POAS (Pee On A Stick) but worrying see only one line appearing at the test.

Well, I think I can take it even if it is unsuccessful but the fear of going thru the whole farking IVF procedures totally freak me out.

Medicated
More Graphics at pYzam.com

Imagine, I will look like a drug addict sniffing the nasal spray for about half a month.

Then becoming a pin cusion taking daily injection for another half a month.

Worst part is the Egg Retrieval Procedures. My gynea FORGOT to book me an anesthesia previously that cause me great pain and cramp during the procedure. Finally the embryo transfer and another 2 stressful week waiting for the result.

I am still quite upset about the result of thawed embyros. Only ONE survived and transfered which make me no choice but to go thru the whole IVF procedure if failed this time. How I wish I could stop at ONE. I am contented having my little Shannon but worried that she will be alone in the world without any brother and sister if we passed away one day. Contradicting ya?

Do I Spare The Rod ?

I receive this tag from Ling.

Answer is NO...

I cane my girl when she is very naughty. However, it will be 1 stroke or 2 only lah. I started using cane when she was 2 years old. Usually I will give her 3 chances, if she doesn’t listen by the 3rd time; I will give her one stroke.

Now I only need to mention CANE and she will be good. I hope I don’t need to use the cane when she gets older. I would still prefer to reason it out with her than resort in canning. And yes, I want to be her best friend. :P

Unique Christmas Presents

Christmas is approaching in less than a month. I am still sourcing for some unique presents for my girl and hubby. I am thinking of getting a streamlight flashlights for J and a cheap telescope for my girl. Having being married for more than 10 years, romantic gifts are no longer in my list. I prefer to get them something that is useful but reluctant buy during normal days. The Bushnell telescope I saw on OpticsPlanet.net cost only USD69.99. It seems to be a perfect telescope for beginner. I believe the night sky here is a better place for my girl to learn about space, planets and the solar system.

Maybe I will get my hubby to go OpticsPlanet.net to choose a gift from huge selection of binoculars, telescopes, sunglasses, goggles, prescription goggles, rifle scopes, range finders, spotting scopes, flashlights, microscopes, and more.

Back to Gym

Shannon was finally back to attend her gym class on Tuesday after stopping for nearly 2 months due to her on and off sickness. She was really happy and excited when we were allowed into the gym room.

She started her leopard crawl, hopping on the hula hoop, jumping on the trampoline. Our kids were separated from the French kids to form a class ourselves. Frankly, we enjoyed this gym session than the previous as we are felt more comfortable for our Singaporean kids to play together. Luckily, Avril’s Mummy, Irene speaks and understands French quite well, thus she helped us to all the translation. ^_^

Now, we are looking forward for the next session!!

The Age That I Wish To Go Back To

This tag was from Jo-N. Thanks for the tag and sorry for taking such a long time.

Hmmm... I took quite a while to "rewind" my brain to go back to one BIG turning point of my life.

I wish I could have had escaped from a car accident when I was 9 years old. My mum was walking us (my twin’s sisters + myself) to school that morning. I was eating Chee Cheong Fun (with red sauce) and happily walking in front of them. I crossed the road without waiting for them and *BANG*. I already had one of my feet on the pavement already!!!! $%^&#@!# I stayed in the hospital for one month and discharged with a plaster on my leg for another month and used crutches for a few months.

This accident made a big impact to my life. Because of the accident, I couldn't run, jump or do any strenuous exercise for about 2 years and it happened on my puberty period. I put the blame on this accident for my shortness now. My self esteem and confidence were totally destroyed after that accident especially when both my younger sisters were taller than me. Friends and relative always asked why I am shorter and always reminded me to slim down. I had to endure nicknames given like "pig" "肥猪" "pui de" from my classmates. That was the time when I realised that having good looks and being thin are damn farking important to live in this world! I started to take slimming pills, and started wearing those panties that hid my tummy.

The worst thing on top of being fat was that I met a bunch of idiots during my poly years. They only helped slim and pretty girls and helped me as and when they liked to. Anyway, I dropped out the course after one module as I am not interested in Electrical and I thought having an electrical diploma would not benefit me when I want to work as secretary. And of course, it was a damn farking wrong choice again.

Enough of my ranting... ^_^

Whatever it is, I wouldn't be able to go back the past. I have already accepted the FACT that I am short and stout. Wahahaha Love me or Hate Me... I don't care anymore.. I don't live my life for those bunch of idiots either. I know that I am considered more fortunate than lots of ppl around the world. ^_^

Dancing In the Street

Last Saturday, we went to Archacon to collect the train tickets to Paris. We saw a "Monkey" and an "Elephant" hugging passerby... Then there was a Frenchman playing nice music with some strange musical instrument. Shannon dare not hug the both of them and ran away from them when they got too close to her.

However, she still stood there and danced with them when the music started.

Learning To Cycle

Backdated Post - 21 September 2007

I realised that I did not marked down how and when she learned to cycle earlier.

Actually, she started to learn to cycle using this bigger bike 2 months ago. She was really a fast learner.

She actually learned how to cycle this bigger bike (four wheel) within an hour. :P

Cycling in Cold Weather

Last Friday, we brought Shannon to cycle despite of the cold weather (12C). J said we should let her out to breathe more fresh air and do some exercise. As the playground was wet due to the rain on Thursday, we decided to let her cycle instead.

Isn't the above "path" taken looked wonderful to cycle?

This bicycle was shipped over from Singapore as J said the kids' bike was more expensive here. She started trying on this bicycle 2 month ago and probably this is the 3rd time she cycled.

Enjoy the pics and video

Mummy, I am scare... T.T

When we told her that we are bringing her to the Therapy Center, she immediately said: "No Therapist" Mummy! I am scare!!.

When she knew that she was really going, she sulked her face and kept very quiet in the car. I know she was very scare of the Therapist but we could not do much about it. "Sigh"

Again, she was "tortured" with massage and nose cleaning. The good news is this will be the last therapy session! We will be seeing him next week just to check on her progress. ^_^

Happy 11th Wedding Anniversary

Time flies, we have been married for 11th years! Whenever I tell my friends that I got married when I was 21 years old. They went "xiao" ... hahahaha..

Anyway, J made Chee Cheong Fan for breakfast to start the beautiful day.

Then we brought Shannon out to cycle and went for buffet lunch at Vietnamese Restaurant.

After lunch, we went window shopping at Jouet club for half an hour and headed back home to rest. We brought Shannon to the Therapy Centre at 430pm and went to Pizzaria for dinner.

Well, it's a simple celebration with no gift exchange. But I am really happy and contented with the way we spend this special day.

Waiting Game Begins

I have one embryo transferred this morning. The Biologist said she had made a mistake this morning on the numbers of embryos being thawed. They thawed total of 6 embryos and only ONE survived which mean NO blastocyst stage embryo was cultivated. The biologist said the quality of this embryo was good and had "high potential" to succeed. Thus, I am having a 3 days embryo in my uterine cavity now, implantation will probably happen 2-3 days later. (Finger crossed)

Dr. Lechat said I can "live normally" after the transfer. I doesn't need bed rest and can resume daily activities right away. She mentioned that there is no scientific result that showed bed-rest increase the rate of implantation. I will have the first blood test on 3 December and 6 December to confirm whether I am pregnant. In other words, I have no frozen embryo left. If I am not pregnant this time, I will need to go thru the Full IVF procedures again which can be quite torturing. I dare not have too much hope too because I am down with bad cough now which I already anticipated before the whole thing started. Dr Lechat said I couldn't take any medicine now except for Panadol which mean I am going to cough my lungs out. :( . "Sigh" Anyway, it was really "suay" to get it now and hopefully my immune system doesn't affect the success rate of the implantation.

SINGLE EMBYRO TRANSFER

I called the this morning and the biologist said that 1 embryo survived out of 4 embryos!!! And I will be doing the embryo transfer 1.5hr later!!!!

Wish me luck!!!

I had 400+ post in my google reader to be read!! Luckily at least half of them are paid posts.. As for tags, I really thank those friends who left tags for me to do. I will clear the tags when I have time!

Bronchitis (Day 10)

"Mummy, No Therapist!"

"Mummy, I am scared!"

This morning, Shannon muttered the above 2 sentences the moment she woke up. She started to cry when we said we would be going to see the therapist. I do not want to pacify her by saying that we are not going. The only thing I could tell her is "it is all for your own good". J even said he don't feel like going cos it is really painful to watch but I really need his help.

She was repeating the above sentences when we were in the car too and she started to cry when we reached the Therapy Center. And yes, she had the massage again this morning. Luckily it was a quick one. The therapist said she is recovering well and will be seeing her on Friday to check on her again.

We went to see the PD for her half yearly check up. She was crying when we took off her clothes for PD's examination. She is now 90cm tall weighing at 12.5kg. Her last measurement taken by us was in June which was 85cm tall weighing at 12.3kg. I am glad she had grown taller!

Progesterone Injection

I just got my Progestrone Injection on my butt and OUCH!!! OUCH!!!OUCH!!!

It was more painful compared to the previous injections. (T.T) The needle was longer and slightly thicker as Progesterone (Oil) is given as intramuscular injection (into a large muscle).

Frankly, I am still in pain now... and hor I wonder J got the right place or not. :..-(

Trying To Conceive (Day 15)

GOOD NEWS!

Gynea said that my uterine lining is thickened sufficiently, I will be taking Progesterone Injection later when J comes back from his work. (Progesterone matures the uterine lining and makes it receptive to an embryo to implant.)

They will thaw 2 embryos today and tries to cultivate them to blastocysts stage. I will call them on Thursday morning to confirm my exact timing for doing the transfer!!!

Making of Baby (Day 14)

I will be seeing the gynea later to scan the thickness of my uterine lining. I know I am going to get a longer and thicker needle pricking on my butt soon. :(

After I got my HCG injection last Saturday, I felt kind of bloated these 2 days and "air" movement in my lower abdomen as well. To make it worse, I am down with cough now. I really hope it doesn't affect the process of making our 2nd baby.

Ohya.. Everytime I finished my injection, Shannon will come to me and asked

Shannon: "Mummy, Are you Okay?"
Me: "Yes, dear"
Shannon: " Mummy, 痛痛"

Then she started to "sayang" my tummy. ^_^

Bronchitis (Day 8)

Shannon went for her 6th Therapies this morning and kenna massaged again. She was terrified when she saw the Therapist! She refused to go into the Therapy Room and we had hard time taking off her jacket as she was struggling vigorously. Luckily J was with me to help or else I think I couldn't handle her by myself. She will be going for another Therapy on Wednesday and hopefully it will be the last session.

It seems that Shannon is recovering well from her Bronchitis but her fever came back. I am not sure what could have caused it. I have been watching what she is eating but fever still comes back at least once a day since last Friday. When I told the Therapist about it, he made a call to the PD but never advise me further. Maybe because she was only having mild fever?? He did mention that no cough medicine was needed as it was not an infection. He even said that her Bronchitis would not spread as the color of her phlegm was white??? Anyone heard about this theory before??

Bronchitis (Day 6)

Backdated - Saturday 17 November

It was really cold at -2°C. We went for breakfast at MacDonald before reaching the Therapy Centre. While waiting, Shannon played with my phone and took some photos using it. When the therapist came into the room, Shannon started to cry and mumble the usual words. While crying, she actually LED us to thru the door and into the Therapy Room!!! I find her act really amusing.. :O) Hmmm, maybe she knew that there is no way that she could escape??? LOL

Anyway, she kenna massaged CHOKED again. Therapist said that her Bronchitis was getting better but there were still mucus "stucked" inside her chest. J was sort of shocked when he saw his dear daughter being massaged CHOKED almost to death. He remained silent for quite a while and I believed his heart must be bleeding.

Making Of Baby (Day 11)

Yesterday I went for the blood test and "suay" enough kenna poked 2 times for one tube of blood. >_<>.<'

Then, I went to see my gynea after the blood test. He did an ultrascan and said that the growth of follicles was stimulated very well. Last night, I have taken the last dose of Gonal F and will take HCG* injection this evening.

HCG - Human Chorionic Gonadotrophine, which is also referred to as the Trigger Injection (Profasi Pregnyl, Ovitrelle) because it triggers ovulation or lengthens the luteal phase of a woman’s cycle as part of infertility treatment. After the injection, this hormone can take up to 14 days to disappear from a woman’s system, which can give a false positive if a pregnancy test is carried out before a missed period.

After which, I will be doing a sonogram next Tuesday to check whether my uterine lining has been thickened sufficiently. Then instruction will be given again next week. ^_^

Great Weekend

Bronchitis (Day 5)

When I thought Shannon was recovering well from Bronchitis, she starts having runny nose. J came back with bad flu last night and Shannon is having fever today! Well, I am not sure who actually passes the virus to whom! Sometimes, I couldn't help it but gets really frustrated! Ever since we re-located here, both of them have been falling sick again and again. :(

Today marked another TORTURING DAY for Shannon at the Therapy Center. She started to whine when we entered the center and started "CHANTING"

Mummy I want carry, Mummy I want go home, Mummy I want Boots and Dora,

NON STOP! LIKE A JAMMED TAPE! -_-'

During the therapy session, the therapist laid Shannon down and started forcing choking her to vomit her mucus by massaging pressing her chest and choking her with one hand and the other hand at her stomach pushing upwards. I was helping to wipe away the mucus she vomitted. I tried to hold back my tears as my girl looked like she was going to choke to death. T.T Then the therapist "shot" one syringe of water thru her nose and start choking her again (Total of 3 times!!!). I think she vomited out almost a cup of mucus!!! I believed Shannon must have really traumatized from the whole procedure, as she was crying so frantically in my arms after the whole massage thingy.

After she settled down, therapist began the neubalizer treatment for her again. As usual, with the mask on her mouth, she cried asking me to carry her. "Sigh" I think she somehow knew that I wouldn't be carry her no matter how much she pleaded thus her cries was on and off this time. Or rather, tears were dried up or simply just too tired to cry after the "choking" session earlier. We went home after the treatment and will be going back tomorrow again. :-( Well, after the mucus/phelgm was forced out, her cough was indeed much better. :-)

Luckily all the medical fees are reimbursable over here. Or else really "pok kai" liao.. I heard J mentioned this afternoon that we have 800 Euro of medical fees (including some IVF fees) to claim back!! And I have not paid a single cent to the Therapist yet!

Making Of Baby Started On 10Nov07

The big project of "Making of No. 2" started on last Sunday 10, November 07!

Well, a day when our dear little Shannon kenna Febrile Fits for the 2nd time. :-( We reached home at 6plus last Sunday after spending half a day in the hospital. After J collected the Pizzas, it was about 7pm which was the time I need to take my first Gonal F injection.

It was really a hilarious night. When J came with the injection pen on his hand, I started to scream "Wait!!!! Can I change my mind of having no. 2?" Look at the way he held the Injection Pen!! He looked like he was going to stab me to death!!! "No lah" I don wan no. 2 liao" I kept on repeating to him. Then lots of things flashing in my mind...

Oh my goodness! Now it is only the starting! The worst part is giving birth!! Natural Birth seems to be very painful!!! Caesarean takes longer time to heal!!! I hate doing confinement and eating those food!!! How am I going to look after 2 kids in France! My tears started to roll in my eyes and I kept pushing J away. I know beri "xia suay" but I am phobia about needles since young leh. (T.T)

Ahhhhemmmm.... hmmm..Frankly, it's NOT painful at all lah!!! LOL Comparing to the first IVF I have gone thru 3 years ago, this is really "sub sub sui". Oh ya.. it reminded me that J said some sweet and touching stuffs when we were going thru the first IVF. NO... he did not say anything to me this time... maybe he is afraid that he couldn't keep his promise again???? Wakakaka

Anyway, I have taken 5 days of injections and will be going back to the Fertility Clinic for Blood Test NEEDLES AGAIN!!! to check whether I am ready to trigger my ovulation!!

Cause of Fever & Bronchitis??

Many concerned friends asked me about the cause of Shannon's high fever and Bronchitis. I am wondering too and found the following on the web...

What Is Bronchitis?

Bronchitis is a respiratory disease in which the mucous membrane in the lungs' bronchial passages become inflamed. As the irritated membrane swells and grows thicker, it narrows or shuts off the tiny airways in the lungs, resulting in coughing spells accompanied by thick phlegm and breathlessness. The disease comes in two forms: acute (lasting less than 6 weeks) and chronic (reoccurring frequently for more than two years).

Acute bronchitis is responsible for the hacking cough and phlegm production that sometimes accompany an upper respiratory infection. In most cases the infection is viral in origin, but sometimes it's caused by bacteria. If you are otherwise in good health, the mucous membrane will return to normal after you've recovered from the initial lung infection, which usually lasts for several days.

What Causes It?

Acute bronchitis is generally caused by lung infections; approximately 90% of these infections are viral in origin, 10% bacterial. Chronic bronchitis may be caused by one or several factors. Repeated attacks of acute bronchitis, which weaken and irritate bronchial airways over time, can result in chronic bronchitis.

The symptoms for acute bronchitis are:

- Hacking cough. chk!

- Yellow, white, or green phlegm, usually appearing 24 to 48 hours after a cough.
- Fever, chills. chk!
- Soreness and tightness in chest. chk!
- Some pain below breastbone during deep breathing
- Some shortness of breath chk!

Conclusion -

On Sunday, the doctor in the hospital said it was Viral Fever as there were no infection found in her Ear, Throat, Blood, Urine and Chest X-Ray.

Looking at the symptoms, Shannon kenna 4 out of 6 in Acute Bronchitis. But 3 out of 4 symptoms popped up when her fever was under controlled on Sunday Night??? If Bronchitis causes fever, the doctor should have detected it by listening to her lungs on Sunday???

So, should we say the Viral Fever caused her to get Bronchitis??? Maybe she caught a cold (Chinese called kum dio) because we dipped her into the tub of water 10 mins after her fits? We should have tried to bring her fever down by just sponging and not immerging her to the tub of water?? We should have let her rest after her fits because her brain and body were very tired after the fits and she needs time to recover.

And what causes her High fever in the first place? Definitely not the kitten cos we have given it away 2 weeks ago. :P

- The Cold Weather? Many of my friends' kid kenna bronchitis one after another since October due to the changing of the season. At the point when Shannon was having Fever, 3 of my friends' kid were also sick either with High Fever and Bronchitis. I even met one of them at the Therapy Center.

- From the Creche? Probably... it is the easiest way to catch the virus since the children are playing together.

- Bronchitis? It seems that this is the least possibilities if you agreed with my explanation above

- Low immune System? because she has been sick with fever and cough on and off for the past weeks.

Well, whatever it is.... I hope we will deal with her condition with more care in future...

Once again, thanks for all the concerns!

Thank you

Recovering Well :- )

I was really tired last night thus I chose to sleep instead of blogging. :P

When we reached the Therapy Center yesterday, she started to pull my shirt and said "no doctor" "go home" and refused to go into the waiting room. Luckily, it was our turn and I managed to bring her in after much struggling and she started crying.

Therapist said her condition has improved and will only see her on Friday. Then, he carried Shannon on his lap and started the Neubalizer treatment. Well, it was painless but she was crying non-stop during her treatment. She looked at me and said "Mummy, Carry" constantly until the treatment stop. The Therapist again "shoot" two syringes of water/medicine into her nostril to clean her nose and I think this terrified her the most. I calmed her down by bringing her to look at the fish tank outside the therapist room and went home shortly...

Shannon is recovering well and she slept better at night now. Her condition improved tremendously after the 3 times of Neubalizer Treatment and I believe she will be fully-recover in no time. :)

Bronchitis (Day 2)

Shannon's fever subsided last night and hopefully it will not return. She slept slightly better last night as well after the therapy session. The chest massage and Neubalizer Treatment did help her by clearing her congested phlegm in her chest. However, she vomited twice today and hopefully it is a good sign by clearing her phlegm.

We went to the Respiratory Therapy Center this evening. Shannon was pestering me to go home while waiting for our appointment. She gave lots of excuses like she is tired, asking for milk or wants to watch Boots and Dora etc. She actually said "NO DOCTOR" and refused to follow me to the car when I told her we were going to see a doctor again.

The Neubalizer Treatment took longer than yesterday. She was crying throughout the therapy as she needs to sit on the Therapist lap with the mask on her mouth whiles the Therapist massages her chest. At the end of the treatment, the Therapist "shoot" 2 syringe of medicine or water straight into her nostrils to clear/clean her nose. And this was the most painful scene to watch...

Well, she is sleeping soundly now and hopefully I can get a good night sleep as well. :)

Bronchitis Set In (T.T)

Her fever subsided since last night but her cough gets really really bad. She was coughing almost non-stop for the whole night. We visited the PD this afternoon and were told that she had Bronchitis. PD said it was not serious but not good ?? She was referred to a clinic to do Respiratory Therapy for a few days depending on her condition. The Respiratory Therapy will help her to clear the airway of mucus or liquid secretion and the therapist will help to massage her chest for easier breathing. Today, she got the neubalizer treatment and massage of her chest and we will go for second treatment tomorrow.

She needs to use an Inhaler 3 times a day to help with her breathing and another type of medicine to dissolve her phlegm. To make it worse, her fever came back at 38.8degree at 9pm! T.T

Viral Fever, Febrile Fits

She dozed off on me last night after taking her medicine. I made sure that her fever subsided to 38.5 before I really turned off the light and sleep. I woke up at 4am to check on her and realised that her fever had risen to 40.8degree. I called my friend in Singapore and took her advice. I gave Shannon another dose of medication and sponge her down till 38.5degree before I go back to sleep again.

We woke up about 10am this morning and she was still having fever. We decided to bring her to the hospital after she finished her milk. When she passed me her bottle of unfinished milk, she said "Mummy, don wan, I cough"... Before I could react, she vomited all over her hair, body and bed. :-( We quickly bath her and her temperature went down to 37.4 after awhile. As I was worried that the hospital will not entertain my girl at low fever, J suggested that we had our breakfast before going to the hospital.

We went straight to the hospital after breakfast and waited for about half an hour. The doctor checked her throat, tummy, and ear and said no infection was found. When he asked about her behavior these 2 days, I nearly wanted to tell him that Shannon was extremely bubbly and active now compared to yesterday. Anyway, the doctor said it should be viral fever and the fever will goes up and down for 5 days. He gave us some 2 types fever medicine prescription and advice us to visit a doctor on Tuesday for another check up. On the way home, we gave her some milk and she dozed off in the car. We were trying to look for a Pharmacy to buy the prescription but all were CLOSED!

J went to our French neighbour house for help to check where to get the prescription on Sunday while I carried her back home and let her watched her Dora as per requested. A while later, she clung on to me like a koala bear and I passed her to J as I need to use the toilet. Within minutes, I heard J calling me. I rushed out and J told me that she was having febrile fits and asked me to sponge her immediately. I went immediately fetch some water and towel and start sponging her. I was trying my best to stay calm although tears were running in my eyes. Luckily her febrile fits last for only one minute but her temp was still very high. We decided to put her into a tub of water instead to bring down her temp. After 1ominutes, her fever subsided to 38.5 and we dried and dressed her up and decided to bring her back to the hospital.

While we were on the way to the hospital, she looked drowsy and even vomited all over me! My shirt was almost wet with her vomits. :-( We reached the hospital and doctor attended to her immediately while I went to the toilet to clean myself up. (T.T ) I went in to join them and doctor said that they will put Emla patch (anesthesia cream) inside of her elbow for one hour before drawing her blood and they need to collect her urine to check for any infection. The hardest part was to catch her urine with the urine bag they pasted on her. She kept on crying and wanted to tear off the urine bag. We did request for a container instead but they only understood it after we asked it for the fourth time. After the urine bag was torn out, she dozed off for about half an hour.

The doctor came in about half an hour later to draw her blood. She was awaken by them when they are holding her hand. As she struggled, the needle did not poke into the right place, thus they had to draw her blood on her right hand instead. Three tubes of blood were drawn and result will be out in half an hour. We brought her to the toilet whenever she said she wanted to pee but nothing came out. She told us it was stuck!!! Oh my goodness!! Stuck?? No urine or stuck? We told her that we need to collect her urine before she can go home. We decided to give her some milk and before she finished the milk, she said she wanted to pee again. We immediately brought her to the toilet and finally got her urine! All of us were so happy when we managed to collect her urine after 3 hours. She was also very happy because she thought she could go home immediately. I decided to bring her out for a walk as she was crying to go home.

After about half an hour, all the result was out! EVERYTHING WAS FINE! The doctor said the fever might cause by some virus. He advice us to see a doctor tomorrow for another thorough checkup while monitoring her high fever by giving her fever medicine 3 hours apart. We reached home tired and hungry. J ordered pizzas for dinner while I immediately went to take in a shower after being so smelly for half a day.

Her fever is under control now, ranging from 37.5-38.5 degree. We will give her another dose of fever medicine before going to sleep. J will be taking half day tomorrow to bring her to the PD for a thorough checkup. Hopefully, her fever bug will goes away soon....

High Fever A-G-A-I-N (T.T)

I went to bed 4am last night after updating some posts. I have the tendency to sayang and kiss my girl before I go to sleep. While I was doing last night, I realised that her forehead was kind of hot. I took her temperature and realised that she was having a high fever at 39.6 degree!!! I used one suppository on her and went back to sleep.

When she woke up this morning, her fever was still high at 39-40 degree. I called J who was working overtime today and get him to book an appt with the PD. After abt half an hour, J called back and said he was not able to contact the PD, thus I changed her and brought her to the GP instead. However, it was CLOSED! "Sigh" Decided to monitor her fever since J is coming back from work.

Her fever never goes down at all today. It was always around 38-40degree. J did suggest asking doctor to come to our house and I was indecisive since she still looks alert and active even with her fever. After 2 hours @ 7pm, her fever was still at 39-40degree, I asked J to call up the doctor but the doctor said he could not make it. I went online and check up some information on fever and decided to monitor her temp ourselves. As long as we can keep her fever below 40degree, it should be ok.

After a dose of medication at 7pm, her fever did subside slightly to 38.5degree around 10pm. In the mean time, I am feeding her more water using a syringe. This fever came so suddenly without any warning. "Sigh" Last week; she was having fever too but not as high as this time round.

Sometimes, I feel really useless and hopeless for not able to keep my girl healthy. She has been sick on and off for more than a month. I have no idea what triggered the fever so suddenly and her cough came back as well. "sigh"

Shannon and The Kitten

These are some funny videos I have taken while Shannon playing with the kitten last Thursday. I know she loves the kitten but she is really way to young to care for it. Ohya, please do not report the videos to SPCA in case she kenna charge for ill-treating the kitty... Muarhahahaha

In this video, she carried the kitten in a wrong way. I love when she said: " don wan don wan"... so sweet...

Hmmm...you can skip this short video if you don wan to hear me screaming at her about the way she carried the kitten.

She finally held the kitten in a RIGHT way! Well the kitten was running away from her in our messy home.

Chasing the kitten around! Throwing her tantrums when the kitty ran away from her. This video clip showed her scratching her face and hair after handling the cat which I hate it.

ENJOY THE VIDEOS!

Kitten was adopted ^_^

The Kitten was finally adopted by our kind neighbour last week. Actually J did kept his promised to send the cat away on Sunday (28 October). However, the cat found his way back our home on Monday night (29 October) and started "meow meow meow" outside the garden door. I am worried that the cat will freeze or starve to death thus I put some old clothes and food for outside. In the morning, after eating, the kitten will stroll away and come back in the evening time for a meal.

I suggested J to bring back to the camp (where he picked up from) and let it go but he said rejected instantly. He brought it back because the French people was killing stray cats as I think it post a certain danger to let it inside the airbase. Last Thursday, he casually asked our neighbour whether he would like to keep a second cat and he agreed to try. I heard J said that his wife and their little girl love the kitten very much.

I was really relieved that the kitten found a home! I was feeling so guilty earlier having to leave the cat outside the garden to withstand the cold. This is one of the reasons I do not like to keep a pet. I have no confidence that I will keep it till it die and do not like want to dump the pet anywhere when I don’t want it one day. Luckily, our neighbour took over the kitten and it really set my mind at ease. :)

Tonic Day 补冬日

Today is 8 November which is September 29 in lunar calendar. Back in Singapore, my dear mother will definitely ask me to go back to drink tonic soup. My mother always say the best day of the year to eat tonic as it will be best absorb into the body. Out of curiosity, I checked it out on the web and found something different.

In lunar calendar, 29 September is the beginning of winter (立冬) which used to be an important traditional holiday for ancient. There is a Chinese proverb [ 立冬补冬,补嘴空 ] , it was believed that if you start taking tonic supplement/soup today, you can actually increase your immunity to prevent severely cold attacks during winter period....Blah Blah Blah...

Sorry lah... donno how to translate further ..., check out the following Chinese site if you guys are interested ... :)

Wrong Move :-(

I made a wrong move! :-(

After Shannon knows how to use a mouse, she sort of addicted to playing online games especially at nickjr.com! She wants to play it everyday for hours. Does it sound incredulous to you for a girl who is only 2 years 7 mths?? She dropped her meals, sleep, toys, tidbits, Dora the explorer blahblahblah just to play online games! When we want her to stop her from playing, she will cry and refused to comply.

I realised that this is not what we want her to be, thus, we decided to put it a stop on Sunday. No more online games for her and also limit her tv-watching time. We spend most of time playing with her, distracting her when she wanted to watch her Dora or to play the computer. We took out the her bouncer and tent occupying almost whole of the living room for her to play. That's was the reason why I am not blogging for the past few days. :(

Bye Bye Fever

Thanks for all the concerns!!! Shannon is recovering well! Her fever subsided since yesterday hopefully it will not return. :P

Yesterday, we went to our J-Ning's Full Month celebration! The moment we stepped into their house, Shannon said: " Mummy, I tired, go home" *_* I think she was grouchy as she just woke up from her late nap and she saw many unfamiliar faces. :( In the end, we have to go to Dawn's house as she will be more comfortable there. We went home at 10 plus and she slept only at 2plus in the morning. :(

Shannon's Favourite Colours

Nope... her favourite colours is not red and green... Those missing letters was her favourite colours. She took her favourite colours letter away from this board and her favourite colours are.......

BLUE and YELLOW

As you can see from the photo above, she kept all the rubbish blue and yellow papers, toys, puzzles in her backpack which she carries around everyday.
