大家讲华文 Speaking Mandarin

One of the best things for going back Singapore for 3 months last year was the improvement of her spoken Mandarin. Before we went back, she don't speak Mandarin at all. After going to the childcare for 2 months and staying with my chinese speaking parents, she can actually converse with us in Mandarin now. ^_^

Reciting 小老鼠

Repeating after the speaker. I wonder why she said 物瓜instead of 木瓜.

First Day of Childcare

Shannon went to the childcare for the first time today. She didn't fussed when I said bye to her. She followed Yang Lao Shi into the area where the kids are having lesson. I can sense that she is not as happy or excited as she or me wanted.

Time Table for N1

According to them, they provide English, Mandrain, languages, Math, Reading programme that includes Phonics, Hanyu Pin Yin, Montessori Programme, Creative Art & Craft.

I hope she will love and enjoy her time in the childcare centre.

Learning To Cycle

Backdated Post - 21 September 2007

I realised that I did not marked down how and when she learned to cycle earlier.

Actually, she started to learn to cycle using this bigger bike 2 months ago. She was really a fast learner.

She actually learned how to cycle this bigger bike (four wheel) within an hour. :P

Learning to Use "Mouse"

I used to put her on my lap in front of the computer and played the education games online. Today, she insisted to use the mouse herself and I let her. She surprised me with her fast learning skills.

In this video, she is still trying to move the mouse to the desired place. As you can see, the mouse arrow was missing always. 15 minutes later, I decided to let her play using her own computer as the smaller mouse should be easier for her to grip.

She played this game several months ago by just either hitting any key on the keyboard or clicking the mouse. In this video, she actually knows how to pick up the pieces and dragged it to the desired place!

Bravo! Shannon! You always surprised mummy with your fast learning skills!

Shannon Tracing Skills

Her tracing skills is getting better each day. So is her coloring skills! She is trying her best to color within the lines too.

Frankly speaking, I am not sure whether she is ready for all this. I did not follow the guidelines given, eg, the correct way of doing the strokes. I will just tell her what she is supposed to do and I will just let her continue. For example, when she is tracing a square, she used one stroke to finish it like how she traced a circle. Sometimes, I will just remind her and I can see that she will try to stop at the corner of the square and continue tracing. I do not want to give her too much rules as I am afraid that she will lose her interest. Afterall, she is still young and shouldn't be bounded by too many rules! In this way, she can let her creativity juices flow freely. ^_^

For those who are interested, I printed out all the above worksheets on the following websites.
