5 families including us made our way to cognac today. We started our journey at 10am and had our Mac Donald breakfast along the way. When we entered the cognac region, we saw fields and fields of dying sunflowers... We have to wait till next year to take nice photos in the sunflower fields.
Cognac - The world's best-known brandy comes from the peaceful countryside surrounding the Charente River one hundred miles north of Bordeaux. World famous firms such as Camus, Hennessy, Niartell, Otard, Prince Hubert de Polignac, Rémy-Martin, Courvoisier, and Renault-Bisquit are located here; each distillery has its own secret and unique process for mixing the various blends of its eaux-de-vie.
Our first stop was Remy Martin but they had only 8 places for the guided tour. Thus, we opted out since we had been here before. Shannon was busy going up and down the stairs while waiting for our friends. We also bought 6 bottles of Remy Red, other favours such as Remy Kiwi etc were not on sale anymore. And I heard they might cease operation on Remy Red as well...
After they finished the tour, we had a small picnic at the empty space in the car park. Daddy cooked De Kah Bee Hoon with Luncheon Meat for lunch.
After lunch, we headed to Hennessy and joined their tour at 530pm. Shannon was really excited on the short boat ride but really cranky when we were in the cellar listening to the tour guide's. I brought her out of the cellar and wait outside. After the tour, we drove to Martell but too bad it was closed for the day.
We headed to Buffalo Grills for dinner and reached home at 11pm...
