Bronchitis (Day 2)

Shannon's fever subsided last night and hopefully it will not return. She slept slightly better last night as well after the therapy session. The chest massage and Neubalizer Treatment did help her by clearing her congested phlegm in her chest. However, she vomited twice today and hopefully it is a good sign by clearing her phlegm.

We went to the Respiratory Therapy Center this evening. Shannon was pestering me to go home while waiting for our appointment. She gave lots of excuses like she is tired, asking for milk or wants to watch Boots and Dora etc. She actually said "NO DOCTOR" and refused to follow me to the car when I told her we were going to see a doctor again.

The Neubalizer Treatment took longer than yesterday. She was crying throughout the therapy as she needs to sit on the Therapist lap with the mask on her mouth whiles the Therapist massages her chest. At the end of the treatment, the Therapist "shoot" 2 syringe of medicine or water straight into her nostrils to clear/clean her nose. And this was the most painful scene to watch...

Well, she is sleeping soundly now and hopefully I can get a good night sleep as well. :)

Jasmine, isn't it painful to see our little one being tortured like that? Mummy's heart is always more painful than the physical pain they are actually feeling. But knowing this is the best treatment, I hope Shannon would recover soon. Take care ya...

I know how you feel, Jas.

My son had Bronchiolitis when he was a baby and had to go for nebulizer very often. There's no pain, just discomfort.

Anyway, he used to have the inhaler too but later on, I gave him Brazilian green propolis (it may not suit every child)and his condition improve a lot. No more inhaler for quite some time now.

Jas, let Shannon finish the treatment first. Then, maybe you wanna find a way to improve her condition. Relying on inhaler is actually not so good.

Hope she recovers soon.

I can imagine the situation you and Shannon were in at the hospital coz this was what happened to Alycia too. THough the nebulizer treatment is painless, kids are still terrified of it. She's going to get better soon, don't you worry :)
